LBW Late-Breaking Programs and Demonstrations

latebreaking

Late-breaking is a unique opportunity to present research in progress and obtain useful feedback on work before it’s ready for full publication. It is especially helpful for authors who are new to the field and want to share their ideas with other researchers in a timely manner. All submissions are semi-archival, and they can be resubmitted for consideration at future LBW conferences.

The Late-Breaking abstract selection process adheres to strict criteria. Consequently, many high-quality abstracts are rejected due to not meeting the criteria.

The purpose of the program is to recognize novel, critically important research developments that occur in the lead-up to the World Congress. Abstracts qualifying for this category report data that became available to the public only after the abstract submission deadline, and the study and results are of urgent importance. Neither case studies nor case series are eligible for this program.

Spotlight on Late Breaking Clinical Research sessions offer an additional platform to showcase major randomized trials and registries that could have a major impact on primary care practice or lead to significant advances in the field. These abstracts also qualify for CME eligibility.

Demonstrations provide an opportunity to showcase eXplainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) research prototypes and get valuable feedback from the community. Unlike posters, demos are hands-on and interactive, giving the audience an opportunity to see the technology in action. Demonstrations are also a great way to introduce innovative research ideas, provide early-stage project results and foster discussions on future collaborations.
